Chuggs the Dog needs a home

Chuggs came from St. Croix, Virgin Islands.  His owner passed away and he was taken to the shelter where the staff veterinarian fell in love with him and took him home to save him from being euthanized.  Chuggs is 5 years old and weighs 25 lbs.  He is heartworm positive and is being treated with monthly Heartguard.  Chuggs would have to be kept on the Heartgard for the rest of his life without fail.  Chuggs also has a crazy underbite which does not affect his eating.  It just looks like he is always smiling.  He also had a broken leg when he was younger that was never set properly and so it is a bit deformed. This does not slow Chuggs down one bit and he can run like a deer.  He is very fast and very agile.  The vet recommended keeping his weight down and keeping him on Glucosamine supplements.  It does not appear to bother him in any way.  Although Chuggs is a bit of a misfit he is super sweet, loves other animals, children and all people.  He has good house manners and loves car rides and going for walks.  He is quite a charmer and everyone who meets him loves him.  If you would like to consider Chuggs please contact Peggy Stern at 908-246-6451 or [email protected].
